Work
Alessio Tranchell is an emerging composer in Saint Paul, MN. His choral music constructs unique textures and utilizes lyrical vocal melodies that are both challenging and singable. Tranchell’s music has been performed by the choirs at Houghton Academy (NY), Muhlenberg College (PA), North Central University (MN), and most recently the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus as winner of the second annual SFGMC Composition Contest.

Conductor Alessio Tranchell is a Choral Conducting DMA student at the Mead Witter School of Music University of Wisconsin, Madison. Previously, Alessio lived in the Twin Cities where he worked at Concordia University, St. Paul, North Central University, University of Northwestern, St. Paul and Crown College where he directed various choirs and taught courses in music theory and taught private voice. He holds degrees from The Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton College (M.M. in Conducting and Voice) and Gordon College (B.A. in Voice). Tranchell has studied conducting under Dr. Daniel David Black, Dr. Adam Luebke, and Dr. Jamie Hillman.
